Confused about
whether to choose the Lenovo K3 note or Yu- yureka ? Well, Lenovo recently
launched K3 note, the companies budget 4G phablet in India, which directly competes with the Yu- Yureka. The battle between these two giants of the
budget Smartphone’s of 2015 has started already. Both these smartphones share
almost similar specifications and indeed have 4G support. So here at Digipan,
we compare these two that are priced at a budget price tag of under 10,000 INR
to hopefully find out if one of them is better than the other.
DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY
Jumping on to the
design, Both the devices are pretty good looking. Both these smart phones has the
same kind of thickness and dimensions, but considering the weight, K3 note is lighter
than Yu- yureka. K3 note weighs only 150g whereas yureka weighs 155g.
At the front,
both the device houses a 5 mega pixel front facing camera for capturing good
quality selfies. On the right side, K3 note has a power on/off key along with
volume rockers whereas yureka has only power on/off key on the right. On the
top, both have a 3.5 mm audio jack. K3 note again has an additional micro USB
port at the top. Volume rockers are present on the left side and a micro USB
port on the bottom on Yu-yureka.
Both the devices
comes with a removable back cover, but Yu-
yureka comes with a better back cover as compared to Lenovo K3 note.
DISPLAY
K3 note sports a
5.5 inch full HD display whereas Yu-yureka sports a 5.5 inch HD display. So
obviously K3 note has a dazzling display. Both has the same kind of viewing angles,
but K3 note display is much brighter. Coming on to the pixel density, K3 note
has a pixel density of 401 ppi as
compared to 267 ppi on yu-yureka. So in terms of the display K3 note is a clear
winner.
Both the devices have
capacitive touch buttons but in Yu-yureka capacitive touch buttons are
back-light enabled whereas K3 note lacks back-light. So that's an added advantage
of users who choose Yu-Yureka.
Also, to protect
the display from scratches, Yu- yureka has corning gorilla glass 3 whereas K3
note doesn’t provide better screen protection facilities.
CAMERA
Moving on to the
camera, both the device houses a 13 mega pixel back camera and a 5 mega pixel
front facing camera. K3 note comes with dual LED flash compared to single LED
flash on Yu-yureka. Both the devices can shoot full HD videos and can even take
pretty decent snaps with sufficient amount of details. The tap to focus works
fine on both smart phones.
The outdoor and
semi-indoor photo qualities of Yu- yureka is super fine. But when it comes to
indoor conditions and other artificial lighting conditions, the camera
struggles a bit when compared to good quality indoor photos on Lenovo K3 note.
PERFORMANCE
Performance wise,
Yu-yureka is powered by 1.5 GHz octacore qualcomm snapdragon 615 processor
coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, whereas the newly launched K3 note comes with
1.7 GHz octacore mediatek MT6752 processor along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB
internal storage respectively. Both the devices support micro SD card slot that
can be expanded upto 32 GB.
Considering the
GPU, Yu- yureka is power packed by Adreno 405 GPU whereas K3 note comes with
Mali- T760MP2 GPU. I was very much impressed by the graphics quality offered by both the devices
but comparatively Yu-yureka has slightly better graphics because it has a lower
resolution screen and adreno GPU are far better than Mali GPU.
Diving on to the gaming
performance, both the device were decent, but I faced more heating issues while
running heavy games on Yu-yureka.
SOFTWARE
Jumping on to
the software part, there is a huge difference between Lenovo K3 note and
Yu-yureka. Yu-yureka runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat based on Cyanogen mode, whereas
K3 note runs on Android 5.0 lollipop along with the Vibe UI on top. Yu- yureka can also be
upgraded to Android lollipop. Yureka offers a much more enhanced user
experience. Cyanogen mode offers you tonnes of customization and the operating
system is highly optimized in terms of multitasking and features. So in terms of software
yu-yureka is a clear winner as Lenovo K3 note offers you a basic Android feature
plus some interesting stuffs using the Vibe UI.
So, as long as software is concerned, I would give a few more stars to
Yu-yureka.
BATTERY & CONNECTIVITY
When it comes to
Battery backup, K3 note is the medal winner. K3 note is packed with a 3000 mAh
battery whereas Yureka falls behind with just 2500 mAh battery. K3 note offers
36 hours of talk time compared to just 8 hours of talk time on Yureka.
Connectivity
wise, Both the devices support 4G LTE connection, but yureka supports 4G on
both SIM cards whereas K3 note supports 4G only on the first SIM with second
SIM just 2G enabled. Both the devices supports WI- Fi, Bluetooth and GPS
connectivity.
EXTRA FEATURES
Lenovo K3 note
is also powered by Dolby Atmos that helps you experience killer sound
qualities. Lenovo claims that it could offer 360° theater like sound experience.
The next notable
feature include the limited edition K3 note which comes with a WOW sound
box and a ceramic plate on back. All you
need is to play your favorite track on K3 note, and place it over the WOW
sound box and it would work as a Sub-woofer.
There is no such
extra features on Yu- Yureka.
WRAP UP
Overall, both
the devices are pretty good, but Lenovo K3 note has a better battery backup and display. But if you want a
better build quality and much more enhanced software which is highly
customisable, then you can definitely go for Yu-yureka.
So what’s your
choice between the Lenovo K3 Note and Yu-Yureka?
